Overview We are seeking a motivated Light Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining a variety of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) and refrigeration systems in commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure our clients' systems operate efficiently and reliably, contributing to their comfort and operational success. Duties Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, and mechanical systems in light commercial environments. Troubleshoot electrical diagnostics, refrigeration issues, plumbing concerns, and mechanical system failures using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct equipment troubleshooting using hand tools and testing devices such as ohmmeters to identify faults accurately. Diagnose HVAC system problems related to electrical systems, building automation systems (BAS), and mechanical components; implement effective repair solutions. Ensure all work complies with safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerants; maintain detailed service records and documentation. Assist with HVAC system installation projects from start to finish, ensuring proper setup and operation. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and offering maintenance recommendations to clients. Experience Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R or related mechanical fields; construction experience is highly valued. Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles, schematics interpretation, electrical diagnostics, and refrigeration systems. Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, maintenance, installation, and building automation systems. Familiarity with plumbing systems, boiler operation, property maintenance tasks, and mechanical systems repair. Mechanical knowledge complemented by proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters. Valid driver's license (preferably driver) with a clean driving record; ability to operate various tools and equipment safely. Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in HVAC or electrical systems are a plus.
