Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and skilled HVAC Service Technician to join our team and deliver exceptional heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical services. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of HVAC systems and related equipment across various property types. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration units (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing, and other mechanical equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Conduct field service operations that include appliance repair, equipment repair, welding, and mechanical adjustments to ensure systems operate efficiently.
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other testing devices to identify electrical or mechanical faults within complex HVAC/R systems.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports documenting work performed, parts used, and system conditions for future reference and compliance purposes.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R systems to uphold safety standards and operational integrity.
- Drive safely between job sites using company-provided vehicles while adhering to all traffic laws. Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as an HVAC service technician; a background in construction or property maintenance is a strong asset.
- Practical experience servicing heat pumps, rooftop units, boilers, cooling towers, and air-cooled chillers is highly desirable.
- Solid mechanical aptitude, with hands-on skills in equipment repair, refrigeration systems (ammonia refrigeration experience a plus), plumbing, boiler operation, and appliance maintenance.
- Able to accurately interpret schematics and HVAC design drawings; comfortable using electrical test equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Welding skills are a plus, along with the ability to perform mechanical repairs using a variety of tools and materials.
- Familiar with HVAC/R industry standards, safety procedures, and environmental regulations governing refrigerants, including ammonia.
- Prior field service experience with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in fast-paced situations.
- Valid driver's license with a clean record; capable of safely operating different types of vehicles between job sites.
- Welding certification or mechanical/automotive experience is a plus, though not required.
- EPA Certification is required.
