The most important skill for this position is the ability to accurately bend, form, route, and install soft copper refrigeration lines while maintaining clean, precise workmanship.
Key Responsibilities Install, assemble, and service HVAC/refrigeration systems Measure, cut, bend, flare, braze, and connect soft copper refrigeration lines Route and form copper tubing without kinking or damaging it Read drawings, diagrams, measurements, and work instructions Perform light sheet metal fabrication, including cutting, bending, shaping, and fitting Use hand tools, power tools, tubing benders, flaring tools, and related equipment Troubleshoot and correct fitment or installation issues Maintain quality, safety, and a clean work area Work independently and collaborate with technicians and production personnel Required Qualifications Previous HVAC and/or refrigeration experience Strong hands-on experience with soft refrigeration copper is required Skilled in bending, cutting, flaring, brazing, and connecting copper Ability to read measurements and work from drawings or specifications Basic to intermediate sheet metal fabrication experience Comfortable using hand and power tools Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Ability to troubleshoot and work effectively in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications HVAC/R certification or technical training EPA certification Commercial or industrial refrigeration experience Experience with refrigeration piping and line sets Ductwork or sheet metal fabrication experience Manufacturing or production experience Ability to read mechanical drawings or schematics Equal Employer Opportunity SWNE1 #construction
