Job Description

HVAC Maintenance Technician Cheeca Lodge & Spa - Islamorada, Florida Keys Help Keep Paradise Comfortable. Cheeca Lodge & Spa, an award-winning Four Diamond luxury resort in the beautiful Florida Keys, is seeking an experienced HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering team. Our resort features over 240 guest accommodations, multiple restaurants, banquet facilities, spa, meeting space, and extensive back-of-house operations—all requiring reliable climate control and mechanical systems. If you take pride in diagnosing problems, performing preventative maintenance, and keeping sophisticated HVAC systems operating at peak performance, we'd love to meet you. Position Overview As an HVAC Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment throughout the resort. Working closely with the Chief Engineer, you'll help ensure our guests enjoy a comfortable and exceptional resort experience every day. Key Responsibilities HVAC & Refrigeration Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment throughout the resort. Perform preventative maintenance on air conditioning systems, air handlers, condensers, fan coil units, exhaust systems, and ventilation equipment. Service refrigeration equipment including walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and beverage refrigeration. Monitor and maintain proper operation of pumps, motors, thermostats, controls, and mechanical equipment. Inspect HVAC systems regularly to identify potential problems before failures occur. Replace filters, belts, motors, compressors, electrical components, and other system parts as needed. Respond promptly to guest room HVAC issues and emergency maintenance calls. Resort Engineering Complete work orders accurately and efficiently. Maintain detailed maintenance records and preventative maintenance schedules. Assist with general engineering projects when required. Maintain a clean and organized workshop and equipment storage areas. Follow all OSHA safety standards and engineering best practices. Maintain professional communication with guests and fellow team members. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of commercial HVAC experience preferred. Hotel, resort, or commercial property experience strongly preferred. EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification strongly preferred. Working knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and mechanical systems. Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals. Experience with preventative maintenance programs. Must possess your own basic hand tools. Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Strong customer service attitude and professionalism. Valid driver's license preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in Florida weather. Why Join Cheeca Lodge & Spa?
