Compensation:
Piece Rate or Hourly Rate (commensurate with experience) Position Summary The Dual-Trade Service Technician is a high-utility role responsible for providing top-tier residential HVAC, and plumbing services. This position handles the diagnostic, installation, repair, and maintenance workloads across multiple mechanical trades while ensuring strict code compliance and excellent customer service. Core Responsibilities 1.
HVAC Diagnostic & Maintenance System Diagnostics:
Perform thorough assessments of HVAC systems to identify issues and recommend efficient repairs or replacements.
Repairs & Maintenance:
Restore air conditioning units through mechanical repairs and perform routine upkeep (cleaning, lubricating, component adjustments).
Installation Support:
Assist with setting new HVAC systems, running ductwork, and making electrical connections. 2.
Plumbing Systems Execution System Installation:
Interpret blueprints and building specifications to install water distribution, drainage, and sanitary systems.
Pipe Modification:
Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to exact specifications using specialized trade tools, saws, and cutters.
Testing & Inspections:
Inspect drainage and plumbing fixtures to ensure proper functioning and verify compliance with local and national regulations.
Leadership:
Train and mentor new plumbing apprentices in proper field techniques and trade practices. 3.
Client Interaction & Administrative Workflow Customer Relations:
Interact with homeowners professionally, explaining technical services clearly and providing optimal system recommendations.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate, timely records of all services performed, including work orders, service reports, and inventory usage.
Efficiency:
Complete all assigned trade tasks within the company's standard timeframes. 4.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance Code Adherence:
Follow state laws, local building codes, and industry regulations for both HVAC and plumbing/gas sectors.
Site Safety:
Wear company-approved PPE and follow OSHA protocols while working in dynamic construction environments and variable weather conditions.
Requirements:
Job Requirements Experience:
Minimum 1 year of HVAC technician experience AND at least 2 years of residential plumbing installation experience.
Licensing & Screening:
Valid Driver's license with a clean MVR report; must pass a background check and drug screening.
Tools:
Must own and demonstrate proficiency with the power and specialized manual tools required for both HVAC and plumbing jobs.
