Kennesaw, GA 30144 We are seeking an HVAC Preventive Maintenance Technician to work alongside and support the Lead Technician in the execution of the preventive maintenance (PM) program. This position is ideal for someone with a strong commercial HVAC maintenance background who is looking to expand their experience with chillers, cooling towers, pumps, hydronic systems, and central plant equipment. The technician will assist with routine preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, system readings, documentation, and basic troubleshooting while developing deeper technical knowledge of commercial HVAC and chiller systems. Key Responsibilities Support the Lead Technician with scheduled preventive maintenance activities across commercial HVAC equipment. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC and mechanical systems. Take and document equipment readings, operating conditions, and overall equipment condition. Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of air-cooled chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and associated systems. Identify basic HVAC equipment issues and communicate findings to the Lead Technician. Assist with inspecting mechanical components for wear, leaks, abnormal operation, or other potential concerns. Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records and service documentation. Follow established safety procedures and proper HVAC maintenance practices. Work alongside senior technicians to develop stronger chiller, hydronic, and central plant troubleshooting skills. Qualifications Previous experience in commercial HVAC maintenance. Hands-on preventive maintenance experience required. Basic HVAC troubleshooting skills. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of HVAC equipment and components. Comfortable taking equipment readings and accurately documenting findings. Ability to work effectively alongside Lead and senior-level technicians. Willingness and interest in developing advanced chiller and central plant HVAC skills. Cooling tower and/or hydronic system experience is preferred. Experience with air-cooled chillers, pumps, and related mechanical systems is preferred. EPA certification, as appropriate for the work being performed, preferred or required based on job responsibilities. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in commercial HVAC maintenance and is comfortable performing preventive maintenance while supporting more experienced technicians on complex equipment.
