Job Description:
This role requires a skilled fireplace installer who can perform installations and trim outs according to design specifications, mechanical codes, and company quality standards. Also assist and work in HVAC installation for residential new construction when needed. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or alongside a crew in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Install complete gas fireplace units. Mount and secure fireplace units, stoves, or inserts into walls or existing spaces based on maker guidelines. Measure and inspect sites to prepare for safe equipment placement. Connect gas lines safely for gas-burning models and check for leaks Install proper venting, flues, and chimneys to guarantee safe exhaust clearance Test the unit to verify proper ignition, airflow, and heat output. Troubleshoot and repair operational issues if a system fails initial testing. Read and interpret mechanical plans, blueprints, and installation drawings Ensure all installations meet local and national mechanical codes and manufacturer specifications Perform system start-ups, testing, and verification of proper operation Perform HVAC installation when needed: including setting up equipment, run ductwork, refrigerant lines, gas piping, furnaces, air handlers, condensers, condensate drains and other related components Coordinate work with builders, superintendents, and other trades on job sites Maintain accurate job documentation and installation records Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards
Qualifications:
HVAC fireplace installation experience in new residential construction Strong understanding of residential Fireplaces and HVAC systems and installation practices Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans and construction documents Proficient in the use of hand and power tools relevant to Fireplace/HVAC installation Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Ability to work independently or as part of a crew in a construction environment Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and work in attics, crawl spaces, and on ladders EPA Section 608 Certification (required) OSHA 10 certification (preferred)
