JOB DESCRIPTION

Perform installation, maintenance, diagnostic, and repair services for residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure proper system performance and operational efficiency.

Duties include:

Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot HVAC systems and related mechanical and electrical components using testing equipment and technical documentation. Install heating and air conditioning systems, components, and controls in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards. Perform routine maintenance and preventative servicing to ensure optimal equipment performance and energy efficiency. Repair or replace defective components including compressors, motors, thermostats, wiring, and ventilation systems. Conduct system performance testing and verify proper operation following installation or repair. Maintain service records, work orders, and documentation of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage. Communicate service findings and recommended repairs to management and customers. Coordinate with dispatch and operations personnel regarding scheduling and completion of service calls. Follow company safety procedures and applicable environmental regulations when handling refrigerants and equipment. Travel locally within assigned service areas to perform onsite service calls.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

: Requires two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related position installing and repairing HVAC systems and equipment. Must have two (2) years of experience in each: 1. Using HVAC diagnostic tools and testing equipment to troubleshoot system malfunctions. 2. Reading and interpreting technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications. 3. Performing preventative maintenance on HVAC systems. 4. Diagnosing and repairing HVAC system malfunctions. 5. Applying standard HVAC diagnostic and repair procedures.
