In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of HVAC systems across commercial and residential properties. Your expertise will ensure optimal indoor air quality, energy efficiency, and system reliability. Responsibilities Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints to diagnose issues accurately. Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems related to HVAC equipment. Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure efficient operation and longevity. Troubleshoot equipment problems using hand tools and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes swiftly. Collaborate with property managers and clients to assess HVAC needs and recommend appropriate solutions. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports for all performed tasks. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations by handling refrigerants responsibly and maintaining necessary certifications. Assist in the installation of new HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, electrical wiring, and controls. Support plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems as needed for comprehensive property maintenance. Operate company van safely while adhering to driving regulations; maintain a clean driving record. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about system issues and solutions. Experience Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC or related mechanical systems repair. Construction experience is highly desirable for understanding building frameworks and installation processes. Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, building automation systems, electrical systems, and plumbing is essential. Hands-on experience with HVAC system installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair is required. Knowledge of refrigeration principles and boiler operation enhances versatility in handling diverse equipment types. Ability to diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools; experience with electrical diagnostics is a plus. Mechanical knowledge combined with proficiency in using hand tools for repairs is necessary for success in this role. EPA certification (or equivalent) for handling refrigerants is mandatory to ensure environmental compliance. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
