Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HVAC Technician Lead/Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a skilled team of service technicians, ensuring high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for delivering reliable HVAC solutions that improve building comfort and efficiency. Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of HVAC service technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient job execution. Oversee the installation of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex HVAC system issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and mechanical knowledge. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to optimize performance and extend system lifespan. Repair and replace HVAC components such as compressors, fans, motors, valves, electrical wiring, and plumbing connections. Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, EPA regulations (including refrigerant handling), and company policies. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and reports for all installations and repairs performed. Requirements Proven experience in construction or property maintenance with a strong background in HVAC service technician roles. Extensive knowledge of HVAC system design, schematics interpretation, electrical diagnostics, plumbing systems, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), and mechanical systems repair. Hands-on experience with HVAC system installation, maintenance, troubleshooting equipment such as boilers and refrigeration units. Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics accurately; familiarity with building automation systems is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment for electrical and mechanical repairs. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise field service teams effectively while maintaining high safety standards. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in HVAC/R or electrical systems are preferred. Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction during on-site visits or project completion.
