ABOUT THE POSITION AJC

Electric Inc. is building a dedicated ductless heat-pump installation division serving Western Massachusetts. We are hiring dependable, hardworking installers and helpers who want to develop a long-term career in the growing heat-pump industry. Employees will work as part of a three-person installation crew under an experienced Lead Ductless Heat-Pump Installer. We are hiring candidates with HVAC experience as well as mechanically skilled individuals who are willing to learn.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with residential and light-commercial ductless heat-pump installations.

• Safely unload, move, stage, and protect indoor and outdoor equipment.
• Assist with mounting indoor units, outdoor condensers, equipment stands, brackets, pads, and line-hide systems.
• Assist with running and securing refrigerant line sets, control wiring, and condensate drainage.
• Seal wall penetrations and maintain clean, professional installation areas.
• Assist the lead installer with nitrogen pressure testing, evacuation, micron testing, startup, and commissioning procedures.
• Follow all EPA requirements while working around refrigerants and refrigerant-containing equipment.
• Maintain tools, materials, vehicles, equipment, and organized job sites.
• Complete installation photographs, job notes, equipment records, and company documentation.
• Communicate respectfully with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Follow company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
• Participate in manufacturer training, EPA certification, and ongoing technical development.
• Correct installation deficiencies when directed by the crew leader.
• Maintain high standards for workmanship, cleanliness, customer property, and professionalism.

QUALIFICATIONS

HVAC, construction, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, or equipment-installation experience is preferred.

• Mechanical ability and willingness to learn a skilled trade.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and material-handling equipment.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions.
• Ability to perform physical work and safely lift equipment and materials.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Respectful and professional behavior around customers and their property.
• Commitment to quality, accountability, integrity, safety, and continuous improvement.

CERTIFICATIONS EPA

Section 608 Universal Certification is strongly preferred for experienced candidates.

• Candidates without EPA certification must be willing to complete company-approved certification within 90 days of employment.

OSHA 10, NATE

Ready-to-Work, A2L refrigerant-safety training, or manufacturer certifications are beneficial but not required.

COMPENSATION AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT

Starting wage of $20-$30 per hour, based on experience, technical ability, certifications, and demonstrated performance.

• Paid technical and manufacturer training.
