Responsibilities Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, and ventilation equipment in residential settings following schematics and HVAC design plans. Perform system repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting on various HVAC equipment such as refrigeration units, boilers, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal operation. Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters to identify issues with electrical systems and components within HVAC units. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams to accurately install or repair equipment. Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to assemble, modify, or replace HVAC components while adhering to safety protocols. Diagnose problems with plumbing or electrical systems related to HVAC installations or repairs and implement effective solutions. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and communicate clearly with customers about work performed or needed repairs. Skills Construction experience combined with service technician background in HVAC/R systems. Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, and building automation systems. Proficiency in HVAC system repair, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques. Knowledge of electrical diagnostics, refrigeration principles, plumbing connections, and mechanical systems repair. Familiarity with hand tools, electrical systems testing equipment like ohmmeters, and equipment repair procedures. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately for proper system setup or troubleshooting. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and professionalism during field service interactions. Valid EPA certification for handling refrigerants; experience with electrical diagnostics is highly preferred. Mechanical knowledge related to boilers, appliances repair, property maintenance, air conditioning units, and building automation systems. Valid van driver's license for safe transportation between job sites; experience in property maintenance or appliance repair is a plus.
