Overview Join our dynamic team as a Journeyman HVAC Technician and become a vital part of delivering top-tier heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical solutions. In this energetic role, you will leverage your extensive construction, service technician experience, and mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide variety of HVAC systems and related equipment. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance across commercial and industrial settings, contributing to safe, efficient, and reliable climate control. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and other mechanical equipment using schematics and technical manuals. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to prevent failures and extend operational lifespan. Install new HVAC systems following detailed HVAC design plans, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes. Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems such as piping repairs or replacements for refrigerant lines or water supply components. Utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting and welding equipment for repairs requiring metal fabrication or sealing. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions. Operate a vehicle safely while transporting tools, parts, or equipment to various job sites. Engage in field service activities including appliance repair, property maintenance tasks, and emergency troubleshooting across diverse locations. Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving HVAC/R system design modifications or upgrades. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and safety documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Support ongoing training in areas such as welding techniques, ammonia refrigeration handling, or advanced HVAC/R systems to stay current with industry standards. Qualifications Proven journeyman/journeywoman-level experience in HVAC/R service technician roles with a strong background in construction environments. Extensive mechanical knowledge covering HVAC systems, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing, boilers, and appliance repair. Ability to read schematics accurately and apply HVAC design principles effectively during installation or troubleshooting. Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other electrical testing devices. Experience with equipment repair involving welding or mechanical adjustments is highly desirable. Demonstrated field service expertise with a focus on property maintenance or commercial/industrial HVAC system management. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Knowledge of safety protocols related to refrigerants (including ammonia), electrical systems, welding procedures, and general maintenance practices. Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively within teams or directly with clients.
