HVAC, Refrigeration & Ductwork Installer - River Cruise VesselsPosition Summary We are seeking a skilled HVAC, Refrigeration & Ductwork Installer to join our marine installation team specializing in river cruise vessels. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, assembly, modification, and testing of HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, ventilation systems, and ductwork aboard new-build and refurbished river cruise boats. This position requires the ability to work in a shipyard environment, read technical drawings, and ensure installations meet marine industry standards and project specifications. Key Responsibilities Install HVAC equipment, including air handling units, fan coil units, chillers, condensers, pumps, and ventilation systems aboard river cruise vessels. Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork and ventilation components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Install and connect refrigeration systems, piping, controls, and associated equipment. Measure, cut, fit, and secure ductwork, insulation, and support systems in confined marine spaces. Perform equipment placement, alignment, anchoring, and startup assistance. Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, and installation plans. Install refrigerant piping, condensate drains, airflow control devices, and related HVAC components. Coordinate with project managers, foremen, electricians, plumbers, and other trades to ensure timely project completion. Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and quality inspections to verify proper operation. Follow all shipyard, marine, and workplace safety regulations. Maintain tools, equipment, and accurate installation records. Travel as required to vessel construction sites, shipyards, or docking locations. Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of HVAC, refrigeration, ductwork, or mechanical installation experience. Experience installing commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications. Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and ductwork installation practices. Familiarity with refrigerant piping, equipment rigging, and mechanical assemblies. Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and marine environments. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work. Valid driver's license and ability to travel. Preferred Qualifications Marine, shipbuilding, or cruise vessel experience. EPA Refrigerant Certification (or equivalent). OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Welding, brazing, or pipefitting experience. Knowledge of marine HVAC and refrigeration standards. Forklift, scissor lift, or aerial lift certifications. Physical Requirements Frequent climbing, kneeling, crouching, and lifting. Ability to work in various weather conditions and shipyard environments. Ability to work aboard vessels during construction, retrofit, and maintenance projects. Ability to wear required PPE and safety equipment.
