Duties Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems following schematics and design specifications. Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration units, and mechanical components to ensure peak performance. Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC equipment such as filters, belts, motors, and electrical connections to prolong system lifespan. Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and building automation system layouts to accurately install or repair equipment. Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems including refrigerant piping and condensate drainage. Use hand tools, ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other specialized tools for installation and repairs. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all work performed for quality assurance and compliance purposes. Skills Proven construction experience with a strong understanding of mechanical systems repair and HVAC installation processes. Service technician experience with troubleshooting HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems. Knowledge of schematics, electrical diagnostics, building automation systems, and HVAC design principles. Mechanical knowledge covering boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, plumbing connections, and appliance repair. Skilled in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other field service tools. Ability to diagnose electrical system issues using electrical diagnostics tools; experience with electrical systems in HVAC is essential. Experience with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC system upkeep; familiarity with refrigerants including EPA certification is preferred. Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about system performance and maintenance needs. Valid van driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles safely. Mechanical or mechanic experience is highly valued for troubleshooting complex mechanical systems efficiently.
