HVAC Test and Balance (TAB) Technician Winona Heating & Ventilating - 3.7 Rochester, MN Job Details Full-time 12 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Teamwork EPA Refrigeration Certification Driver's License Associate's degree HVAC Full Job Description Winona Heating and Ventilating is seeking an experienced HVAC Test and Balance (T&B) Technician in the Rochester, MN area to perform field testing, adjusting, and balancing of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort. Candidate will document results, generate reports, and coordinate with engineers, contractors, and facility staff. Key Responsibilities Perform air and hydronic system testing, adjusting, and balancing per ASHRAE and AABC methods. Measure airflow, temperature, static pressure, water flow, pump/motor performance, and system control operation. Calibrate instruments and maintain T&B tools (anemometers, manometers, flow hoods, balometers, pitot tubes, data loggers). Prepare clear field reports, TAB (T&B) sheets, and final certifications. Troubleshoot HVAC performance issues and recommend corrective actions. Verify system sequences of operation and HVAC control integration (DDC/BMS). Coordinate with site teams to schedule work, access equipment, and minimize disruption. Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards. Maintain accurate time, material, and progress records. Qualifications 2-5+ years hands-on HVAC test & balance experience (commercial/industrial projects preferred). Proficient with airflow and hydronic measurement techniques and instruments. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, pumps, fans, coils, VAV, AHUs, chillers, boilers, and controls. Experience reading mechanical drawings, ductwork and piping layouts, and HVAC schedules. Ability to produce professional TAB reports and field documentation. Good troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
