THE DEAL, STRAIGHT

$25 an hour to start, with a

GUARANTEED

40-hour week, paid weekly by direct deposit. The techs already on this crew are right at $30, and the owner moves people up when he sees their work, on his judgment and his timeline. I won't promise you a raise date because he doesn't make that promise. What he does guarantee is the 40. Slow winter morning and you don't roll until nine, you're still paid the full week.

THE WORK

Commercial HVAC and refrigeration on convenience stores along the Mississippi coast into

Slidell and Covington:

rooftop units, walk-in coolers and freezers on remote condensing units, self-contained ice machines. No supermarket rack. Your own territory, your own take-home truck with a gas card, work dispatched by email. Nobody rides with you, but you're not stranded. The veteran techs in Hattiesburg answer the phone when you hit something new, and those guys are the future supervisors, which tells you where a good tech can go here.

THE SCHEDULE, READ BEFORE APPLYING

Saturday and Sunday are required workdays. You pick any two weekdays off, together or split, and they're consistent. If that kills it, no hard feelings, better now than week three.

WHAT YOU NEED

Real commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience. This is a solo seat, not a first job or a fresh-out-of-school seat. EPA Universal required. NATE a plus. ETA NOT required. Valid driver's license, clean enough for a company truck. Living in or near Diamond Head, Waveland, or Bay St. Louis, or ready to move there. This is a response-time role.
