Position Summary The HVAC Service Technician performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This position performs hands-on mechanical service work at customer job sites, utilizing specialized tools, diagnostic equipment, and industry-standard repair techniques to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Perform service, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of residential HVAC systems (all major makes and models) Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using system knowledge, manuals, and schematics Follow all safety protocols and maintain a strong focus on safe work practices Communicate clearly with dispatch, team members, and customers throughout the service process Maintain a clean, organized truck and work environment Complete accurate service documentation, notes, and job details Support and assist in training or mentoring junior technicians as needed Contribute to overall team success by taking on additional responsibilities when needed Technicians are expected to identify opportunities where repairs, upgrades, or system improvements could benefit the customer. When these recommendations result in additional work, technicians have the opportunity to earn performance-based incentives and spiffs.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements Authorized to work in the United States High school diploma or GED Two-year technical degree or equivalent hands-on field experience Working knowledge of HVAC tools, equipment, and service methods Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to work independently while following direction and processes Ability to lift up to 100 lbs Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Preferred Qualifications EPA Universal Certification Basic to intermediate computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Service software) Experience with system controls, electrical components, and power distribution Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting experience Skills & Attributes Detail-oriented and organized in both fieldwork and documentation Positive attitude with a team-first mindset Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to think critically and troubleshoot effectively Reliable, self-motivated, and solution-focused Technicians should be comfortable diagnosing and repairing components such as compressors, motors, condensers, fans, thermostats, ductwork, gas systems, and other common HVAC equipment.
