Highly competitive pay based on experience and demonstrated ability NC Quality Air is looking for an experienced Lead HVAC Installer who takes pride in quality workmanship, knows how to lead an installation team, and understands that a system is not complete until it has been properly commissioned. This is a field leadership position for someone who can complete high-quality HVAC installations, guide helpers and junior installers, communicate professionally with homeowners, and ensure every system operates according to manufacturer specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead residential and light commercial HVAC installations from start to finish Complete full-system changeouts, equipment replacements, and new installations Install and modify ductwork, transitions, plenums, boots, returns, and supply systems Properly install and commission variable-speed and communicating HVAC systems Verify airflow, static pressure, refrigerant charge, temperature split, drainage, electrical operation, and system performance Set up thermostats, controls, Wi-Fi connectivity, and communicating equipment Read installation instructions, wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, and job scopes Identify installation challenges and communicate solutions before they become problems Direct helpers and other installers while maintaining productivity and workmanship standards Ensure materials, equipment, tools, and job documentation are complete Maintain a clean and organized jobsite Protect the customer's home and provide a professional installation experience Complete required photos, startup documentation, commissioning reports, and customer walkthroughs Follow company safety procedures, applicable codes, and manufacturer requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

At least three years of HVAC installation experience Demonstrated experience leading installations or directing an installation crew Strong experience with residential system changeouts and ductwork Working knowledge of heat pumps, air conditioners, gas furnaces, air handlers, package units, and mini-split systems Experience commissioning variable-speed and fully communicating systems Ability to diagnose and correct airflow, ductwork, electrical, drainage, and refrigerant-related installation issues Ability to braze, evacuate, pressure-test, charge, and start HVAC systems properly EPA Section 608 certification Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record Ability to safely lift and move HVAC equipment and work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor conditions Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Professional appearance and respect for customers' homes
