Responsibilities Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems using schematics and technical manuals. Install new HVAC systems and mechanical equipment in compliance with design specifications and safety standards. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems to ensure reliable operation. Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and conduct electrical diagnostics for system faults. Repair plumbing components related to HVAC systems and refrigeration units, including ammonia refrigeration systems where applicable. Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to perform repairs or modifications on equipment. Conduct comprehensive equipment troubleshooting to identify root causes of failures and implement effective solutions promptly. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs performed for accountability and future reference. Collaborate with property maintenance teams to ensure building systems operate efficiently and safely. Adhere to EPA regulations by handling refrigerants responsibly and maintaining certification requirements. Support field service operations by responding promptly to service calls and providing expert technical support onsite. Experience Proven construction experience working with large-scale mechanical systems in industrial or commercial settings. Extensive service technician experience specializing in HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance. Strong knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical wiring diagrams, and building automation controls. Hands-on experience with plumbing systems related to HVAC/R applications; familiarity with ammonia refrigeration is a plus. Skilled in electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters; capable of troubleshooting electrical systems comprehensively. Mechanical knowledge encompassing equipment troubleshooting, welding, boiler operation, appliance repair, and property maintenance tasks. Experience working with HVAC/R components including air conditioning units, refrigeration compressors, pumps, valves, and ductwork. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles safely in various environments. Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in HVAC design or refrigeration are advantageous. $32.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
