Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior HVAC Maintenance Mechanic to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing complex heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment across multiple building sites. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and safety compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead maintenance efforts, troubleshoot advanced systems, and deliver exceptional service to our clients and stakeholders. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, refrigeration units, boilers, air conditioning units, and building automation systems to ensure continuous operation. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical diagnostics issues using tools such as ohmmeters and schematics to identify root causes of equipment failures. Repair or replace HVAC components including compressors, fans, motors, valves, thermostats, and electrical wiring while adhering to safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Install new HVAC systems and mechanical equipment following detailed HVAC design plans and schematics to meet project requirements. Conduct plumbing repairs related to HVAC systems such as pipe fittings, drainage issues, and water supply connections. Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment for precise equipment repair and maintenance tasks. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including service reports, inspection logs, and system modifications to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards. Collaborate with building automation system specialists to optimize system performance and energy efficiency. Support emergency repairs during off-hours as needed to minimize downtime and maintain occupant comfort. Ensure all work complies with EPA regulations for refrigerants and environmental safety standards. Skills Extensive construction experience combined with service technician expertise in HVAC/R systems. Strong knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical systems diagnostics, and mechanical systems repair. Proven ability in HVAC system installation, maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues such as refrigeration units, boilers, air conditioning units, pumps, valves, and mechanical components. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters; familiarity with building automation systems is a plus. Mechanical knowledge encompassing plumbing connections and mechanical systems repair techniques. Experience working with hand tools and specialized diagnostic equipment for precise repairs. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and timely resolution of issues. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; valid driver's license required for travel between sites. Ability to interpret technical schematics and technical manuals accurately while following safety protocols.
