Job Description

We are searching for a highly skilled Residential and Light-Commercial HVAC Installer capable of managing system replacements with autonomy, safety, and a high level of technical proficiency. You will be expected to take full ownership of your assignments, from reviewing project requirements and organizing materials to guiding a helper and finalizing the installation with minimal oversight. We prioritize superior craftsmanship and are looking for a professional who values precision over speed to ensure every system is installed to the highest standard.
Core Responsibilities & Leadership Project Ownership:
Evaluate installation plans, confirm all necessary equipment and supplies are ready, and execute projects within established labor timeframes.
Crew Leadership:
Foster team growth by mentoring junior staff and directing the daily workflow to ensure efficient project completion.
Full-System Installation:
Manage the entire lifecycle of equipment change-outs and new setups, from initial removal to final system activation.
On-Site Problem Solving:
Proactively identify and resolve site challenges to help maintain project timelines and ensure client satisfaction.
Professionalism:
Uphold a tidy workspace, safeguard the customer's home, and ensure all project documentation is recorded accurately. Technical Expertise We require hands-on proficiency across a wide array of systems and tasks, including:
Equipment:
Gas furnaces, central AC, heat pumps, air handlers, boilers, mini-splits, ductless systems, condensers, and evaporator coils (York equipment experience is a plus).
Piping & Venting:
Expert handling of refrigerant lines, including brazing and evacuation, alongside gas piping, PVC venting, and condensate drainage.
Electrical & Controls:
Competent installation of thermostats, line/low voltage wiring, and fundamental electrical connections.
Sheet Metal & Ductwork:
Skilled fabrication and adjustment of sheet-metal transitions and ductwork components to ensure optimal system performance.
Commissioning:
Execute thorough system start-ups and airflow verification to guarantee reliable operation and reduce the need for follow-up visits.
Position Requirements Essential Qualifications:
Demonstrated background in residential HVAC installation. Current driver's license with a clean driving record. Fluent in the use of standard HVAC hand and power tools. Ability to interpret technical specifications, diagrams, and installation manuals. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs., navigate ladders, and work in confined spaces like attics or crawlspaces. Reliable, punctual, and maintains a professional demeanor. Preferred Qualifications (High Priority): EPA Certification (Required for Lead Installer consideration). Experience working on light-commercial projects. Proven history of managing installation crews and training apprentices. Specialized expertise in multi-zone mini-split and boiler system replacements.
