HVAC Mechanic Location:
Pittsburgh Air Reserve Station, Coraopolis, PAPOSITION
EAST O&M LLC., a multi-service facility management and base operations support provider to military installations, has the need for a full time HVAC Mechanic.DOL-http:

: The Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning Mechanic installs, services and repairs environmental-control systems in residences, department stores, office buildings, and other commercial establishments, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout, mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, fabricates, assembles and installs ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment, and installs evaporator unit in chassis or in air-duct system, using hand tools. This mechanic also cuts and bends tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and tools, cuts and threads pipe, using machine-threading or hand-threading equipment, joins tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units by means of sleeves, couplings or unions, and solders joints, using torch, forming complete circuit for refrigerant, installs expansion and discharge valves in circuit. Climate control for commercial buildings involves complex HVAC systems (like RTUs, VRF, Chillers) that manage heating, cooling, and ventilation for large spaces, focusing on zoning for different areas, energy efficiency through smart controls (DDC, occupancy sensors), and air quality via filtration, with key strategies including regular maintenance, insulation, and using fans/blinds to reduce energy load and maintain occupant comfort.Primary Responsibilities are:
- Install, service, and repair environmental-control systems (DDC) in military establishments utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout
- Connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and ventilation fans to control panels and connects control panels to power source
- Replace defective breakers, control thermostats, switches, fuses and electrical wiring to repair installed units using electrician's hand tools and test equipment
- Must possess a current
EPA CFC/HCFC
refrigerant processing certification / Universal certification- Troubleshoots, diagnoses, makes repairs, and reads blueprints
