Position Summary We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service, Sales & Installation Technician who can diagnose, repair, sell, and install residential HVAC systems. This is a hands-on technical and sales-focused position. The ideal candidate has strong HVAC knowledge, can confidently diagnose system issues, communicate findings to homeowners, recommend repair or replacement options, close HVAC replacement opportunities, and complete high-quality installations. The technician will work under our company's licensed HVAC contractor. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot residential HVAC systems, including electrical, mechanical, airflow, refrigerant, thermostat, and control issues. Perform HVAC service, repairs, maintenance, and complete system installations/change-outs. Properly recover refrigerant, braze, pressure test, evacuate, charge, start up, and commission HVAC systems. Clearly explain system condition and repair or replacement options to homeowners. Identify and generate HVAC replacement and upgrade opportunities during service calls. Present equipment options, pricing, financing, warranties, and additional HVAC solutions to customers. Confidently ask for and close the sale while maintaining a professional, customer-first approach. Recommend appropriate upgrades such as thermostats, indoor air quality products, accessories, and efficiency improvements. Provide accurate information for estimates and equipment recommendations. Maintain professional communication and provide an excellent customer experience from the initial service call through installation. Properly document service calls, repairs, recommendations, and completed installations. Follow company procedures, manufacturer specifications, safety requirements, and applicable HVAC regulations. Section 608 Universal Certification required. Ability to obtain and maintain required Texas TDLR A/C and Refrigeration Technician registration. Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems and refrigeration principles. Ability to independently diagnose HVAC electrical, mechanical, airflow, control, and refrigerant issues. Experience performing complete residential HVAC installations and change-outs. Knowledge of refrigerant recovery, brazing, pressure testing, evacuation, charging, and leak detection. Ability to use HVAC diagnostic equipment and read wiring diagrams and manufacturer specifications. Strong sales, communication, and customer service skills. Comfortable presenting repair vs. replacement options and closing HVAC system sales. Ability to build trust with homeowners and explain technical information in an easy-to-understand way. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to perform the physical duties associated with residential HVAC service and installation.
