Job Summary:
As the Senior Mechanical / HVAC Estimator for our Special Projects Group (SPG), you will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious client acquisition and revenue growth objectives. You will assist SPG's management team by reviewing plan and spec HVAC projects, compiling accurate cost estimates, and preparing client proposals, as well as be creative in formulating cost-effective solutions to reach our clients requirements for their space.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide back of house and client facing support for the Sales Manager Chief Estimator including but not limited to: Assist in overseeing 2nd team estimator's bids & scope questions, as well as help finalizing and reviewing their proposals before submitting to client. Maintain SPG's bid lists and CRM entries accurately with timely updates. Create proposals & complete RFP documents for submission to client. Interact with subcontractors and vendors to verify & level their proposals Develop value-engineered alternatives for client's consideration. Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails Field Bid Request phone calls/emails, and query client for project details. Research accounts, identify key players, and generate interest. Complete leveling sheets, emails & attend leveling meetings at needed from our clients.
Qualifications:
3 to 5 years' experience in the HVAC industry (with engineering or construction degree, 5+ years experience required without) Engineering degree or Construction Management degree preferred Technical degree or associates degree in a related field will be considered Individuals with HVAC or commercial construction management in the Detroit area and associated experience are welcome to apply Must have excellent communication, presentation & organizational skills Must have working knowledge of all typical computer programs used in this work environment such as MS Office, Vista and/or Windows 7 (MS Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook), Blue Beam software a plus. Valid driver's license This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus that aligns with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, and competencies.
