In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining sheet metal systems within commercial buildings. Your expertise will ensure the efficient operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction, mechanical systems, with a focus on delivering high-quality workmanship. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that enhance building performance and occupant comfort. Duties Install, assemble, and secure sheet metal components according to schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design specifications. Perform HVAC system installation, including ductwork, ventilation systems, and related mechanical components. Conduct repairs and maintenance on HVAC/R systems, boilers, refrigeration units, electrical systems, and plumbing fixtures. Troubleshoot equipment issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and electrical diagnostics equipment. Repair or replace mechanical parts using hand tools, welding equipment, and other specialized tools to ensure optimal system performance. Interpret schematics and technical drawings to facilitate accurate installation and repairs. Assist in the setup of building automation systems (BAS) for efficient climate control. Ensure compliance with safety standards including EPA regulations related to refrigerants and ammonia refrigeration. Experience Proven construction experience with a focus on sheet metal installation or related mechanical systems. Strong mechanical knowledge including HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance. Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical diagnostics, plumbing systems, and building automation systems. Relevant certifications such as EPA certification for refrigerants are required or preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service environments.
