MECHANICAL SUPERINTENDENT

Full-time RDI Mechanical is hiring a Mechanical Superintendent to lead field operations on large commercial mechanical construction / mission critical projects in El Paso. This is a senior field leadership position responsible for manpower, production, scheduling, safety and quality. The superintendent will work closely with RDI's project management team, general contractors and other trades to anticipate issues, keep the work moving and deliver the project according to plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the day-to-day field execution of commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects Plan manpower, work sequences and weekly production goals around the project schedule Direct, support and hold field personnel accountable for safety, quality and productivity Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, deliveries, access and installation activities Review drawings, specifications, submittals, coordination drawings and changes in scope Use pull planning, six-week look-ahead schedules and constraint logs to identify potential delays Track installed work, earned value and forecasted percentage of completion Forecast labor needs and worker hours against the project schedule and budget Review field productivity and address manpower, sequencing or coordination issues early Inspect work in progress and completed installations for quality and compliance Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors and other trades Communicate schedule risks, field conditions and project needs clearly and promptly Support material takeoffs, change estimates and pricing for additional or revised work Lead pre-job planning, coordination and field meetings as needed Maintain a safe, organized jobsite and correct hazards when they are identified Develop field personnel and reinforce clear expectations across the team

QUALIFICATIONS 5-7

years of relevant commercial mechanical construction experience Proven experience leading crews on large or complex mechanical projects Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, mechanical piping and ductwork installation Experience planning labor, monitoring productivity and tracking project performance Working knowledge of LEAN construction practices and look-ahead planning Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, submittals and coordination drawings Strong understanding of construction sequencing, schedules, budgets and field coordination Sound judgment and the ability to resolve field issues before they affect the project Strong leadership, organization and communication skills Ability to work effectively with field personnel, project management and general contractors Relevant licenses and certifications required for the position Degree in construction management, construction science or a related field is preferred PAY Pay based on experience.

Pay:

$75,710.87 - $100,000.00 per year
