Licensed A/B A/C Operator VA Medical Center Houston, TX Keep Critical Healthcare Systems Running We're seeking experienced Licensed A/B A/C Operators for an upcoming opportunity at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston. This role is ideal for HVAC professionals who can safely operate, maintain, and troubleshoot critical facility systems. Responsibilities Operate and monitor chillers, pumps, cooling towers, HVAC equipment, and building automation systems Track temperatures, pressures, loads, and alarms, making adjustments when needed Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, air-handler, and control systems Troubleshoot equipment issues, respond to emergency calls, and restore system operations Manage equipment startups, shutdowns, setpoints, and manual controls Maintain operating logs, alarm histories, repair records, and CMMS/Maximo work orders Follow all VA, healthcare-facility, and safety procedures Qualifications Current, full, and unrestricted applicable A/B A/C license At least 5 years of commercial or hospital trade experience Experience operating chiller plants and commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems Knowledge of building automation, pumps, cooling towers, air handlers, and controls Strong troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance skills Ability to maintain accurate operating and maintenance records Ability to communicate in English and meet VA onboarding and clearance requirements What's in It for You? Available shifts may include:
7:30 AM-4:00 PM 3:30 PM-12:00 AM 11:30 PM-8:00 AM Final shift assignments will be determined by the VA and may change based on facility needs.
