This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and commissioning commercial HVAC and chiller systems throughout the Rio Grande Valley. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience working independently in commercial facilities, and the ability to communicate professionally with customers. Experience with chillers, air-handling units, pumps, controls, and building automation systems is highly preferred. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and chiller equipment. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, startups, and service repairs. Service air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, rooftop units, split systems, air-handling units, pumps, boilers, and related mechanical equipment. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control-system problems. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, and control sequences. Use electrical testing instruments, including multimeters, clamp meters, and megohmmeters. Inspect equipment and recommend necessary repairs, replacements, and maintenance. Communicate equipment conditions and repair recommendations clearly to customers and supervisors. Complete accurate service tickets, inspection reports, equipment documentation, and time records. Follow EPA refrigerant-handling requirements, OSHA guidelines, company safety policies, and customer site rules. Participate in an on-call rotation when required. Travel to customer locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley and surrounding areas. Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicle, and assigned inventory in a professional manner. Qualifications Commercial HVAC service and troubleshooting experience required. Chiller service experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, motors, compressors, pumps, contactors, relays, sensors, and controls. Ability to read electrical schematics and diagnose electrical and mechanical failures. EPA Section 608 certification required. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required. Ability to work independently and manage assigned service calls. Strong customer-service and communication skills. Ability to use a smartphone, tablet, email, and digital service software. Ability to safely lift tools and equipment and work from ladders, rooftops, mechanical rooms, and elevated work areas. Technical-school training, manufacturer certifications, or additional HVAC licenses are preferred. Compensation $27.00-$40.00 per hour, based on commercial HVAC, chiller, electrical troubleshooting, controls, startup, and field-service experience. Overtime and advancement opportunities may be available. Work Location This is an on-the-road position serving commercial customers throughout the Rio Grande Valley, including the McAllen, Edinburg, Mission, Weslaco, Harlingen, Brownsville, and Rio Grande City areas.
