Job Description
Job Overview We need HVAC technicians to maintain 4 apartment communities, 3 in Orange and 1 in Beaumont. Hours 8-5 M-F. We are seeking a skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and field service experience, with the ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems across various settings. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of working independently and efficiently to ensure optimal climate control and system performance. A valid driver's license is essential for travel between job sites. The position offers opportunities for growth in HVAC/R, refrigeration, plumbing, and equipment repair. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment. Read and interpret schematics, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals to accurately service equipment. Perform maintenance tasks such as cleaning filters, replacing parts, and calibrating systems to ensure efficiency. Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems, including pipe repairs and connections. Utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics and welding equipment for repairs when necessary. Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate testing devices and perform necessary repairs or replacements. Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems and general building operations. Ensure compliance with safety standards during all service activities, including handling ammonia refrigeration systems when applicable. Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with clients regarding system status and recommended solutions. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC or related fields such as refrigeration, appliance repair, or property maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and understand HVAC design principles. Experience with plumbing, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), boiler systems, and equipment repair. Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and welding equipment. Knowledge of construction standards related to HVAC installation and maintenance. Ability to work in the field independently with minimal supervision while maintaining safety protocols. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required for travel between sites. Additional skills such as welding, boiler operation, mechanic experience, or specialized certifications in HVAC/R are advantageous.
