Duties Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems using schematics and technical manuals Install new HVAC equipment such as ductwork, thermostats, electrical controls, and mechanical systems in commercial buildings Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R systems to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems using tools like ohmmeters to identify faults accurately Collaborate with clients to provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies Assist with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems when necessary, including pipe fittings and drainage connections Skills Proven construction experience with mechanical systems installation and repair in commercial settings Service technician experience specializing in HVAC system troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical diagnostics, and refrigeration systems Mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, valves, and boilers Proficiency with hand tools including wrenches, screwdrivers, multimeters, ohmmeters, and specialized diagnostic equipment Ability to read blueprints and building automation system diagrams accurately Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and problem-solving Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in electrical systems or ammonia refrigeration are a plus Experience working with mechanical systems repair and HVAC system installation in commercial environments Ability to operate a van safely as a driver while adhering to traffic regulations Join us if you're passionate about delivering reliable HVAC solutions that keep buildings comfortable while advancing your career through ongoing training in cutting-edge technologies.
