This position is based at our Ready Roast location in Madera, CA. The Company Ready Roast along with Hampton Farms is the leading In-Shell Peanut Company in the US. We are also a leading producer of other types of nuts and nut butters for the retail and commercial markets. You can find our product in most grocery stores and major league baseball stadiums. We distribute under the Hampton Farms brand and are also a leading private label manufacturer. Job Purpose This position is responsible for providing mechanical maintenance/repair support for plant operations and administration departments. Responsible for completing scheduled repairs, implementing preventative maintenance measures and responding to emergency repairs calls. This position will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Daily attendance to ensure that production equipment is operational at all times.
• Complete scheduled repairs.
• Respond to emergency repair calls.
• Implement and monitor and ensures that preventative maintenance on equipment is be executed and properly documented.
• Repair conveyors, motors, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems with minimum supervision.
• Ensure that all GMP'S & Safety Policies are followed.
• Ensure that proper PPE is being worn, bump caps, gloves coats, pants and safety glasses, face shields, and earplugs etc.
• Will maintain forklift certification through required re-certification tests.
• Perform tasks that involve welding, torch cutting, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Observes mechanical devices in operation and trouble shoot and repair as needed. With attention to finding root causes of the failure and eliminating it.
• Must ensure that the response time to any mechanical failure is adequate, to ensure minimal production downtime.
• Work with co-workers to coordinate preventative maintenance and any repairs that need to be addressed.
• Disassemble devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Inspects used parts to determine frequency of replacement.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Starts equipment to test their performance.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Assist in the operation and repairs of Boilers.
• Assist in the operation and repairs of Chillers.
• Utility repairs of air, water and AC systems, pump and valve repair on all system within plant operations.
• Must have own tools.
• Review and enforce the Company's food safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Other duties as assigned
• Works evenings and weekends as required. Education and/or Experience
• High school diploma, vocational/technical training is highly desirable.
• Minimum of five years of mechanical/electrical maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Good working knowledge of food processes and packaging equipment.
• Experience in fabrication, welding, electrical, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Excellent mechanical skills, PLC programming, vertical form/fill/seal, metal detection, and roasting knowledge.
• Must be very familiar with GMP's, HACCP, OSHA, and USDA regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Skilled in calculating basic mathematical figures/amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Must have the skills to weld with (STICK), (TIG) and (MIG) welders Work Environment
