Ratto Bros, Inc . is a 100-year-old family-owned farming operation selling vegetables and leafy greens to retailers and packers throughout the U.S. We are seeking a Processing Line Mechanic to join our team! This position will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on all equipment, machinery, conveyors, and other components throughout our facility. This role will troubleshoot and repair automated food processors, washers, baggers, and more. Most of the job will be held in a cold storage facility with wet or humid conditions. Periodic inspections, preventative maintenance, testing on all electrical and control systems will be necessary to ensure the efficient operation of our electrical and control systems. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair all support equipment: including but not limited to, air-compressors, gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, starters fuses, pumps, valves, etc Respond and repair emergency breakdowns of facility equipment. Operates a variety of electrical testing equipment in locating and determining types of electrical malfunctions. Studies plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and/or installations. Repairs and maintains 240/480 three phase systems. Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the maintenance trade. Skilled in electric motor installation and troubleshooting. Skill in the installation, repair and maintenance of all types of processing system equipment and components Ability to perform electrical work associated with industrial electric power distribution and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) control systems. Skilled in Relay Logic and PLC programing is a plus. Perform root-cause fault diagnostics on live electrical systems to identify and correct electrical, mechanical, control, pneumatic, and computer system failures so they remain at full functioning capacity. Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in equipment/industrial maintenance
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus but not required
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of industrial wiring, motors, switches, switch panels, fuse boxes, lighting, testing and power circuits.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of electrical gauges, recording instruments, electronic sensing units and other related equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience with electrical troubleshooting control systems
  • Must have thorough knowledge of industrial maintenance.
  • Must be detailed-oriented and deadline sensitive.
