Position Overview

We are seeking mechanically skilled individuals for full-time Assembly Mechanic positions supporting helicopter manufacturing and final assembly operations in Torrance, California.

Assembly Mechanics are responsible for the detailed assembly and installation of aircraft components and subassemblies using hand tools, pneumatic tools, measuring equipment, and specialized assembly fixtures.

Previous aviation experience is not required. Candidates with a strong, verifiable mechanical background are encouraged to apply. Relevant experience may come from aviation, automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, military maintenance, or other hands-on mechanical environments.

Veterans and transitioning military service members are highly encouraged to apply.

Essential Job Functions

Assemble aircraft components, subassemblies, and final assemblies in accordance with established manufacturing procedures.

Install and fit mechanical components using hand tools, pneumatic tools, drills, torque wrenches, and other shop equipment.

Perform drilling, fastening, torquing, fitting, alignment, and installation of aircraft components.

Read and follow work instructions, technical documentation, drawings, and basic blueprints.

Use measuring tools and equipment to verify proper fit, alignment, and installation.

Inspect components and completed work for proper installation, workmanship, and quality.

Identify mechanical discrepancies and communicate issues to appropriate personnel.

Maintain accurate documentation and production records for completed work.

Follow established safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Work effectively as part of a fast-paced aircraft production and assembly team.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of sustained, verifiable hands-on mechanical experience.

Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to work with mechanical components and assemblies.

Experience using common hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment.

Ability to follow technical instructions and established work procedures.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Good manual dexterity and ability to perform detailed mechanical work.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

High School Diploma or GED.

Ability to meet applicable pre-employment and workplace requirements.

Relevant Experience

Candidates do not need previous helicopter or aircraft experience.

Relevant mechanical backgrounds may include:

Aircraft or helicopter maintenance/assembly

Automotive repair or automotive technician experience

Diesel or heavy-equipment maintenance

Military aviation, vehicle, or equipment maintenance

Industrial or manufacturing maintenance

Mechanical assembly

Motorcycle, marine, or small-engine repair

Machine shop or fabrication experience

Other sustained professional hands-on mechanical experience

Preferred Qualifications

Previous aviation, aerospace, or aircraft manufacturing experience.

Experience with aircraft assembly or maintenance.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical drawings.

Experience using precision measuring equipment and torque tools.

Technical school, trade school, or military technical training.

A&P certification is a plus but is not required.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range:

$24.00 - $32.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

This is a full-time, direct-hire position eligible for overtime.
