Qualifications:
To qualify for the Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic Leader, WL-5306-10, applicants must meet the following screen-out job element to be considered for this position: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out Element) Ability To Inspect (Screen-out Element) Ability To Instruct (Screen-out Element) Ability To Lead Or Supervise (Screen-out Element) Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired. To meet the screen-out examples of the duties includes: Knowledge of the refrigeration cycle of a variety of commercial and industrial systems to locate and check elements such as those which control low side and high side pressure; the temperature of the cooling units; the temperatures of the liquid and suction lines; and the running time of the various mechanisms. Applicants must meet the requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualification Handbook for Trades and Labor Occupations.
