Mechanical Assembly Technician Kennedy Space Center, FL $24.67 - $34.54/Hour Abilty to Obtain a Secret Clearance We are hiring a Mechanical Assembly Technician supporting aerospace, NASA, and spaceflight hardware manufacturing. This role requires experience with mechanical assembly, tube installation, structural drilling, hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, fittings, precision measurement tools, and complex component assembly using engineering drawings and requirements.
Responsibilities:
Assemble precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components for aerospace and spaceflight hardware. Install and handle tubes, ducting, valves, fittings, pumps, and hydraulic system components. Perform structural assembly tasks, including drilling and match drilling aluminum, titanium, and composite materials. Measure tolerances and mechanical clearances using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and related precision tools. Apply torque specifications and verify mechanical fit, alignment, and clearance requirements. Work on complex components and systems using established drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements. Support assembly work in clean room, aircraft hardware, or human spaceflight manufacturing environments as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Typically 1 or more years of related mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or equivalent experience. Experience assembling precision mechanical or electro-mechanical components. Experience using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and precision measurement tools. Experience working from engineering drawings, specifications, torque requirements, and mechanical clearance requirements. Experience with mechanical tube installation, structural drilling, and assembly processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting a NASA program. Experience working in a clean room environment. Manufacturing experience with human spaceflight, spaceflight, aerospace, or aircraft hardware. Experience installing and handling tubes, valves, fittings, tubing, and ducting. Structural assembly experience, including match drilling aluminum, titanium, and composite materials.
