Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IL Licensed Elevator Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of lift and elevator systems in commercial and residential settings. We are a family owned non-union contractor that values employees and customers. We primarily work in central Illinois, but occasionally travel outside this area. A typical work week is Monday-Friday. Duties Installation of lift and elevator systems (commercial & residential) Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on lift and elevator systems Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using schematics, technical drawings, and troubleshooting techniques. Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to accurately identify system faults. Repair or replace mechanical components. Troubleshoot lift and elevator malfunctions efficiently to minimize downtime. Communicate clearly with clients regarding repair procedures, system status, and maintenance schedules to deliver excellent customer service. Experience Proven experience as an elevator mechanic with a strong background in mechanical systems repair and electrical work. Valid Illinois Elevator License or equivalent certification demonstrating compliance with state licensing requirements. Extensive knowledge of elevator components including hydraulic systems, electrical systems, motors, controllers, and safety devices. Skilled in reading electrical schematics, interpreting technical drawings, and troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with field service operations involving elevator maintenance and repair in commercial or residential settings. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members.
