Job Description

Job description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Mechanic to oversee maintenance and repairs for a wide range of heavy equipment and industrial machinery. In this role, you will ensure equipment reliability, safety, and performance while troubleshooting complex issues. This position is ideal for a proactive professional who excels in mechanical systems and wants to make a strong operational impact. Duties Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and inspections of heavy equipment, including forklifts, skid loaders, industrial shredders, balers, and guillotines. Lead fabrication tasks including welding, soldering, assembly of parts, and custom modifications to ensure equipment meets operational specifications. Conduct safety inspections on all machinery to ensure compliance with safety standards; oversee heavy lifting operations using cranes or hoists. Mentor and train team members on proper use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and safety procedures. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and parts inventory; ensure timely documentation of all maintenance activities. Requirements Proven mechanic experience with dealership backgrounds or industrial equipment service roles. Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment operation including forklifts and skid loaders. Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals; proficient in electrical systems troubleshooting including soldering and wiring repairs. Hands-on experience with welding techniques; ability to fabricate custom parts or modifications as needed. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; familiarity with tire service procedures. Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or internal teams regarding repairs or maintenance schedules. Valid certifications related to maintenance (e.g., ASE certifications), forklift operation licenses or certifications are preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with HVAC systems and power tools; capable of working independently or leading a team effectively.
