Job Description
About the Role As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the peak performance and reliability of complex process equipment within a high-output manufacturing environment. You will leverage your expertise in mechanical troubleshooting and precision alignment to minimize downtime and optimize the operational integrity of our plant systems. Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and overhaul rotating equipment, including centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, to maximize equipment lifespan. Execute precision shaft alignments using laser and dial indicators to ensure smooth, vibration-free operation. Perform high-integrity bolted flange assemblies and gasket replacements to maintain leak-free piping systems. Maintain and troubleshoot steam tracing, heat exchangers, and process valves to support continuous production cycles. Operate manual machine shop tools, such as lathes and milling machines, to fabricate or modify critical mechanical components. Execute complex rigging tasks to safely maneuver heavy machinery, motors, and exchanger bundles. Document all maintenance activities and reliability improvements within our computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Strictly adhere to safety protocols, including LOTO and confined space entry, to foster a culture of operational excellence. Qualifications Required Skills 3+ years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance within a refinery, chemical, or heavy manufacturing facility. Demonstrated proficiency in precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators. Strong ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical equipment manuals. Solid understanding of industrial safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and energy isolation. Experience with manual machining, including lathe and drill press operation. Preferred Skills Completion of a formal Millwright or Industrial Mechanic apprenticeship program. NCCER Industrial Maintenance or Millwright certification. OSHA 10 or 30 certification. Hands-on experience with ASME pressure vessels and shell-and-tube heat exchangers.
