Summary:

The class A mechanic is a part of the maintenance team under the direction and supervision of the maintenance supervisor, manager, and director of maintenance. The class A mechanic is responsible for assisting in the day to day maintenance required to keep the production plants operational.

Responsibilities:

The class A mechanic will assist in day to day preventive and corrective maintenance. Have a working knowledge of tools and how they are used to complete work safely and effectively. Have an in-depth equipment knowledge which includes: Equipment and process trouble shooting In-depth equipment repair Equipment preventive maintenance Have knowledge of basic electrical theory with the ability to troubleshoot a complex electrical circuit. Advanced mechanical trouble shooting and problem solving skills. Have the ability to plan a job and work unsupervised with a high level of precision. Have the ability to complete preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with the maintenance management system. Have the ability to plan and carry out complex jobs which includes: Creating a scope of work

• Assembling necessary parts and tools Leading a crew of mechanics Planning for unforeseen obstacles Safely returning the equipment to service Must have the ability to teach, train, and mentor fellow mechanics and mechanic helpers. keep detailed documentation of equipment and parts. Have the ability to work within ISO 9001 and OSHA guidelines. Ability to work and learn in a fast pace changing environment. Be available to work after hours to assist with the occasional call-in. Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

5-7 years of mechanical experience Ability to follow direction Ability to lift 50 pounds Climb ladders and work at heights Capable of working in high noise levels, high dust levels, and outdoors.
