Instrument Test Technician I - Mechanical Assembly & Testing
Job Description
- Only qualified Test Technician candidates located near the Sparks; Maryland area will be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence
- Required Education
- Associate's degree in Mechatronics or relevant fieldRequired Experience
- Zero years of experience with an Associate's degree in Mechatronics or relevant field
- Three years of experience in electrical, mechanical or software troubleshooting
- Mechanical assembly experience or demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Experience using mechanical tools such as torque drivers, gauges, and bits
- Experience reading drawings and interpreting and measuring dimensions and requirements
- Experience working with computers and a Windows environment
- Medical device experience
- Tech Skills
- Basic proficiency with PCs and Windows environment
- Fundamental knowledge of mechanical tools
- Ability to read drawings and follow simple diagrams
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to perform electrical mechanical or software troubleshooting
- Ability to analyze charts and testing data
- Ability to interpret pass or fail criteria
- Knowledge of Quality procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing principles

- Responsibilities
- Perform production assembly operations and complete system analysis testing and performance optimization
- Build integrate and understand the assembly process and requirements for instruments
- Perform functional and release testing on moderately complex instruments
- Analyze test results and data to determine pass or fail outcomes
- Troubleshoot nonfunctioning test equipment and identify basic electrical mechanical or software issues
- Provide solutions based on testing results and pass or fail criteria
- Optimize instrument system performance using testing data and results
- Identify defects and recommend design and process improvements
- Read and interpret drawings work instructions and workmanship standards
- Provide training to associates on mechanical and testing activities
- Identify and escalate issues associated with instrument testing operations
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering Quality Planning and Purchasing as needed
- Perform material handling functions for instrument raw materials and subassemblies
- Follow established procedures regulatory requirements safety requirements and Quality standards
- Maintain a safe clean and efficient work environment
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Follow company housekeeping policies and procedures
- Follow company safety policies and procedures
- Work overtime as required to meet business requirements
- Perform other duties as required
