Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated 1st Shift Line Mechanic to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production line equipment to ensure seamless operations during the second shift. Your expertise in industrial mechanics, electrical systems, hydraulics, and precision measurement instruments will be essential in optimizing machinery performance and minimizing downtime. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulic systems, and electrical components. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills. Operate and calibrate precision measuring instruments such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to identify faults accurately. Conduct welding (including welding) and mechanical repairs using appropriate tools and techniques to restore equipment functionality. Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment history. Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime by providing field service support and quick response to equipment failures. Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols related to high voltage systems, low voltage controls, HVAC/R systems, and industrial electrician practices. Requirements Proven experience working in an industrial mechanic or maintenance role within a manufacturing facility. Strong electrical experience with knowledge of high voltage and low voltage systems; familiarity with industrial electrician practices is preferred. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, hydraulics, welding (including welding), HVAC/R systems, and mechanical troubleshooting. Ability to operate scissor lifts and other industrial equipment safely. Excellent analysis skills for diagnosing complex machinery issues quickly and accurately. Knowledge of CMMS software for maintenance tracking; familiarity with field service operations is a plus. Effective communication skills in English; ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Industrial maintenance experience that includes working with precision measuring instruments like ammeters and ohmmeters. Military background or experience in related technical fields is considered an asset due to discipline and technical expertise requirements.
