Job Description

Job Summary Cinnamon Bay, LLC — East Brunswick, New Jersey Cinnamon Bay, LLC is seeking an experienced Landfill Gas Power Plant Mechanic / Operator to join our team at our East Brunswick, New Jersey facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and day-to-day operation of the power plant and associated auxiliary equipment. Experience with Caterpillar G3520C gas engines or similar Caterpillar generators is preferred. Cinnamon Bay, LLC is a private landfill-gas-to-energy facility that has been operating since 2011 and provides renewable energy to thousands of homes. Schedule Monday through Friday schedule with a rotating on-call responsibility. Employees will share responsibility for responding to operational or equipment-related issues outside of normal working hours, including occasional weekends and holidays, as needed. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Formal technical, vocational, or trade school education, or equivalent experience, preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of diesel or natural gas engine mechanic experience required.
  • Experience with Caterpillar G3520C gas engines or similar generators preferred.
  • Experience with Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) preferred.
  • Caterpillar gas engine certification is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and work orders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing multiple tasks and maintaining a high level of organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule. Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM), diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on Caterpillar engines and associated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and perform breakdown repairs on engines and other equipment or machine components in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Utilize hand tools, pneumatic tools, and specialized tooling provided by Cinnamon Bay, LLC.
  • Maintain day-to-day operation of the power plant and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Perform daily walk-down inspections and other required operating routines.
  • Complete operational, maintenance, and inspection documentation.
  • Maintain maintenance records, parts logs, parts inventory, and other required logs and reports.
  • Load and unload equipment, materials, and parts from company or delivery vehicles.
  • Assist other mechanics and employees with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Train and assist lower-level mechanics when required.
  • Respond to equipment and operational issues as part of the rotating on-call schedule.
  • Comply with all Cinnamon Bay, LLC and OSHA safety and health rules, policies, and procedures.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions The successful candidate must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The position requires periods of standing, bending, squatting, and working in various positions while performing maintenance and repairs. The employee may be exposed to elevated noise levels and seasonal hot and cold temperatures while working both indoors and outdoors. The position requires working with oils, lubricants, greases, and other materials commonly associated with engine and equipment maintenance.
