Job Description SummaryJob DescriptionGE Vernova in Schenectady, NY is seeking current students who have completed at least one full year of course studies (30+ credits relevant to their degree) in one of the AOS/AAS programs (or similar) listed below:
Mechanical Engineering TechnologyMechatronicsCNC Machining TechnologyAutomotive Technical ServicesThe Skilled Trades Internship Program is a 12-week, paid program designed to provide a unique learning experience for highly motivated students who are interested in pursuing a Plumbing Steamfitter career upon graduation. The program pays $28.01/hour for a 40-hour work week. A $600/month housing stipend is also available to students whose residence is more than 50 miles away from the site. Interns will be paired with current team members in numerous roles to learn more about the trade and to demonstrate their abilities. Skills developed include hydraulic systems, machine schematics, industrial machinery, steam, water and air systems. If successful in the internship, there is opportunity for full time employment upon graduation. RequirementsMust be 18 years of ageMust have a high school diploma, GED, or GED equivalentMust have completed at least one year of one of the degree programs (or similar) listed aboveMust pass background check and drug screenMust be able to wear personal protective equipment, for example safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoesMust be able to work in a tobacco-free environmentMust be legally authorized to work in the
