Job Description

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a skilled Mobile Equipment Mechanic to join our Engineering, Maintenance & Asset Management team in the construction materials industry. In this role, you will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mobile equipment such as loaders, haul trucks, and forklifts to ensure safe and reliable operation. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues, and keep accurate service records. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair mobile construction equipment including loaders, haul trucks, excavators, dozers, and related support machinery. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, fluid changes, filter replacements, and safety inspections to maximize equipment uptime and reliability. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems using appropriate tools, test equipment, and diagnostic software. Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field and on-site, prioritizing safe, efficient repairs to minimize production interruptions. Document all work performed, parts used, and findings in maintenance systems, ensuring accurate, timely records and compliance with company standards. Collaborate with equipment operators and supervisors to identify recurring issues, recommend corrective actions, and support continuous improvement in equipment performance. Follow all Heidelberg Materials safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental guidelines while maintaining a clean, organized work area. Assist with the installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment and support implementation of new, more sustainable maintenance practices. Coordinate with vendors and parts suppliers to obtain correct replacement components and support cost-effective repair solutions. Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving equipment technologies, safety practices, and company initiatives in innovation and sustainability.
