JOB SUMMARY

Gearbox technician will perform assembly and disassembly, set-up, and testing of industrial gear boxes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Assemble and disassemble new and repaired gearboxes. Disassemble geared products when necessary. Accurately measure gears, shafts, housing bores for proper clearances with calibrated measuring tools. Read assembly drawings. Assemble shafts, gears, bearings, and lubrication systems. Properly set-up gearboxes to ensure they meet specifications, tolerances, and other customer requirements. Perform light welding. Operate forklift and crane. Conduct safe rigging of materials. Check accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School graduate or equivalent. Strong mechanical aptitude (i.e., automotive, diesel, heavy industrial equipment). Capable of repairing large industrial equipment such as gearboxes, motors, and pumps. Manual machining Welding. A team player with good communication skills. CDL is a plus, Able to pass OSHA training. Able to operate a forklift. Capable of using overhead crane. Experience with industrial gear drive assembly (preferred). Basic machining knowledge & use of inspection equipment (preferred). Basic math skill. Able to read blueprints and troubleshoot problems with critical & analytical thinking. Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
