We are seeking a proactive Manufacturing Engineer (Mechanical) to improve and scale mechanical product manufacturing. The role focuses on designing and optimizing production processes, developing tooling and fixtures, ensuring product quality and manufacturability, and supporting ramp-up of new products. You will collaborate with R D, production, quality, and supply chain to reduce cost, increase throughput, and sustain safe, repeatable operations. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and validate manufacturing processes for mechanical products and assemblies.
Create and optimize tooling, fixtures, work instructions and PCB/assembly layouts to improve manufacturability and efficiency.
Lead process capability studies, process validation, and production qualification for new and revised products.
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Collaborate with design engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable, perform
DFM/DFMEA
reviews and provide feedback on mechanical and electrical designs.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma principles) to reduce cycle time, scrap and cost while increasing yield and throughput.
Support sourcing and commissioning of industrial machinery and production equipment; develop equipment requirements and acceptance tests.
Prepare and maintain documentation including process flows, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
Provide on-floor support during start-up, production ramps, and changeovers, and train production staff on new processes and equipment.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements throughout the manufacturing process. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
3+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering within mechanical product production (start-ups or high-mix/volume environments preferred).
Strong knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles and mechanical engineering fundamentals, including GD&T, materials, tolerances and assembly methods.
Proven experience with process development, tooling design, process validation and production troubleshooting.
Proficient in mechanical CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with PLC/software used for manufacturing controls.
Excellent problem solving, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; experience leading small technical teams or projects.
Nice to have: experience with industrial machinery, manufacturing operations, mechanical design and electrical design.
Nice to have: familiarity with CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, electrical assemblies, and automation integration.
