Role Overview We are seeking an Industrial Mechanical Superintendent to manage diverse mechanical teams across heavy commercial and industrial sites. This position requires a hands-on leader capable of overseeing ironwork, rigging, structural welding, millwright alignment, and equipment installation. You will also manage fabrication and equipment setting while utilizing your piping expertise to ensure seamless trade integration and equipment tie-ins. As this is a working Superintendent role, you must be prepared to provide direct support to your crew and utilize tools as necessary to ensure project success. Schedule Expectations Standard project operations follow a Monday through Thursday schedule. A typical work week consists of four 10-hour shifts. Expectations include flexibility for overtime, weekend work, night shifts, and travel as dictated by project timelines and client requirements. Core Responsibilities Direct the activities of various skilled trades, including Millwrights, Riggers, Ironworkers, Welders, and support staff to ensure project efficiency. Engage in hands-on tool work to help the team maintain high standards of safety, quality, and production schedules. Manage the installation of mechanical equipment, structural steel modifications, and precision alignment to ensure structural integrity. Facilitate complex lift plans and crane operations to ensure the precise placement of heavy machinery, conveyors, and rotating equipment. Collaborate with piping teams to ensure that equipment tie-ins and utility interfaces are sequenced correctly for optimal project flow. Monitor site performance by tracking material usage, labor productivity, and potential schedule risks to keep the project on track. Provide operational support for diverse mechanical services, including plant maintenance, capital projects, and emergency repairs to ensure facility reliability. Desired Qualifications At least seven years of experience in industrial mechanical construction. Background in roles such as Millwright, Rigger, Ironworker, or Mechanical Lead is highly valued. Comprehensive expertise in rigging, structural welding, fabrication, and multi-trade coordination. Familiarity with process piping and equipment tie-in coordination to support project integration. Demonstrated ability to lead teams through strong communication, safety advocacy, and effective project planning. Physical Requirements and Environment Work is performed in various settings, including active industrial plants, fabrication shops, and outdoor construction sites. Must be capable of using necessary PPE and navigating challenging environments like ladders, scaffolds, and platforms. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds to assist with essential field operations. Schedule flexibility is required to accommodate emergency repairs, shutdowns, and client-driven project timelines.
