Overview We are seeking a Mechanical & Electronics Engineer to design, develop, and maintain manufacturing jigs and fixtures, while working closely with production teams to improve productivity, reduce waste, and ensure consistent quality. This role requires strong mechanical design skills combined with electronics knowledge, and mandatory hands-on knowledge of optical systems/components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and validate manufacturing jigs, fixtures, and tooling for assembly and test processes.
• Support production lines to identify bottlenecks, improve cycle time, and enhance overall productivity.
• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify waste (materials, time, motion) and implement corrective actions using Lean / Kaizen methods.
• Integrate optical components and alignment systems into jig and fixture designs where required.
• Collaborate with the electronics team on sensor integration, control circuits, and automation for jigs.
• Create and maintain technical drawings, BOMs, and design documentation using CAD.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic issues on the production floor.
• Work with cross-functional teams (Quality, Production, R&D) to drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct DOE and testing to validate jig performance and repeatability.
• Ensure all designs comply with safety, ergonomic, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

Mandatory:

Knowledge of optical systems (lenses, alignment, optical measurement/calibration, or optical assembly processes).

• 2-5+ years of experience in jig/fixture design within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Understanding of basic electronics/circuit design (sensors, PLCs, or microcontrollers a plus).
• Strong problem-solving and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in optical device manufacturing (cameras, lenses, sensors, laser systems, etc.).
• Experience with automation / PLC programming.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Experience with DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly). Keys Competencies

$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
