In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and maintaining sheet metal components used in various industrial equipment and structures. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with advanced machining and fabrication tools, and a commitment to safety standards. Duties Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to accurately fabricate sheet metal parts using various tools and machinery. Set up and calibrate machining tools, ensuring precise measurements with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments for quality control. Perform welding operations using appropriate techniques to join metal parts securely while adhering to safety protocols. Use hand tools and forming machines to assemble fabricated components into finished products or subassemblies. Conduct routine inspections of machined parts for dimensional accuracy and surface quality using precision measurement instruments. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety standards in production and handling hazardous materials responsibly. Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret mechanical blueprints and ensure fabrication meets specifications. Assist in troubleshooting machine issues, performing preventive maintenance, and optimizing manufacturing processes. Qualifications Proven experience as a sheet metal mechanic or fabricator within an industrial manufacturing setting. Proficiency with CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, stamping presses, press brakes, welding techniques, and forming machines. Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), shop math, and basic math skills relevant to manufacturing. Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), safety standards in production environments, and measurement for quality control. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with tooling setup, machine operation, fabrication processes, and assembly procedures. Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools effectively. Excellent attention to detail combined with strong problem-solving skills.
